AUDIOLOGY

St. Auditus Hearing Center offers different services that can aid in diagnosis and intervention of hearing loss. Our center is equipped with Diagnostic Audiometer AD229b which is used in performing Audiometry to assess a person’s hearing threshold and sensitivity and ability to understand speech. We have a sound proof room that is ideal for hearing testing. Tympanometry is also available in the center to check the condition of the middle ear and mobility of the eardrum through AT235 Impedance Audiometer.

The center also offers hearing aids which come with different styles and models depending on the client’s need, comfort and budget, to help clients with hearing problems. This is in partnership with Active Hearing Center.

The Center, in compliance to the Republic Act 9709 advocates Newborn Hearing Screening Test in both in-patient and out-patient to promote early detection of hearing loss through Otoacoustic Emission Test which measures the the baby’s ability to hear. It is a newborn hearing screening Test for well-baby. For the babies who are admitted in the NICU for greater than five days or those that are high risk we are using Automated Auditory Brainstem Response (AABR) which is based on automatically detecting auditory brainstem response signal in noise at a certain stimulus level.
