Nuclear Medicine Department
Our Lady of Caysasay Medical Center is the first to offer nuclear medicine in Western Batangas. It is a medical specialty that utilizes radioactive materials (radiopharmaceuticals) in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Procedures are safe, painless and cost effective.
The Department performs Radioimmunoassay (RIA) TSH, FT3, FT4 a very sensitive technique used to determine the concentration of hormones in the blood. Thyroid Uptake Study that provides quantitative information regarding the percent of the administered activity of the radioactive iodine taken up by the thyroid gland and Radioactive Iodine Therapy Treatment of benign thyroid condition such as Hyperthyroidism/ Grave’s Disease, Toxic Multinodular Goiter, Toxic Adenoma.
